There have been a lot of comments about Klamath Community TV on social media. Many have disparaged the idea, saying we don't need TV in Klamath County. But what the nay-sayers don't know is there are a great many benefits to the plan we are working on.
For starters, holding the local Government accountable with an ever-vigilant news department is something Klamath County has needed in a big way for a very long time.
How many times have you heard your friends and neighbors say,"No one is listening at the BOCC or City Council?" It's an all too common feeling that we have just come to understand that has lead to a decidedly apathetic population.
And if you think the police or city or county don't know that no one is holding them accountable, I have a some marsh land in Florida I want to sell you. I was actually quite thankful when the City of Klamath Falls decided they did not want to support this project because, the integrity of our news should be above reproach.

There is also the sports. While we all have our favorite high-school team, and we all root for the OIT owls, the truth is many people never get to see a game. Finding the games on YouTube is at the very best a pain in the butt. While we all love our team sports in this county, most people don't get to see them.
However, by having a playlist for each school that carries the sports of each high-school and OIT that contains every game they play in a season and live coverage of each game before it goes on the playlist, anyone with a smart TV can watch every game in the county if they chose from their living room.

And oh by the way, did we mention the EAS system we will be offering with our system?
Every time a winter storm bears down on us or a wildfire closes a highway or some other major event needs to be communicated to the public, we will send a message to your TV and your cell phone.
We have the capacity to push notifications to every cell phone and TV in the county if you decide to sign up, so that you are never without warning ever again anywhere in Klamath County. We may lack law enforcement everywhere in this county, but we ought never again be without warning everywhere in Klamath County.
So while some may say we had TV once and we don't need to go back in time, the modern age of streaming TV can offer a myriad of perks across a decidedly rural county that will bring this county into the 21rst century with News, sports and of course emergency management. Why wouldn't we want TV back in Klamath County?
