Tall Oaks from Tiny Acorns Grow

Updated: Apr 30

This is the week that television comes back to Klamath Falls.

There's an old saying that mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow and much like that old adage, we are starting from the humblest of beginnings.

We now have a news director and station manager. We also have a radio station (Gold Country Radio) and a bevy of equipment. And we have a collection of channels, sponsors and the like to get it going.

But we are still working from the home office as we await a studio to host our channel, and I am still working my full-time job to work to get this station off the ground.

The plan is to build this station with all the trappings from news to sports, to soap operas, to cooking shows to fishing and hunting shows and more.

But as of May 1, when we host our first news show, the offerings are still coming online, and we are still looking for more content. I ask that you be gentle with your criticism of the channel, as it is a work in progress. And rather than curse the darkness, but light a candle. If you think a show about knitting is needed, have the gumption to stand up and start to film it.

There are so many talented people in this community, and it is my hope that we tap into that talent with all our friends and neighbors and start making TV using that talent. This station ought to look and feel like Klamath County, and it is my hope that Klamath County takes a stab at creating A TV station that is worthy of its history and future.

This station I hope will outlive me and will be a resource for this community for years to come. I welcome everyone in Klamath County to get involved. Thank you.
